This is one of three Shelby GT 500's with a Factory 427 Lightweight Side-Oiler motor installed at the Shelby Factory. This lightweight 427 side-oiler was the same motor that was installed in the AC 427 Competition Cobras. This GT 500 427 is #289 in the Shelby American World Registry. It was believed that this first 427 GT 500 was built prior to Shelby GT 500 #544 which was White with Blue stripes, nicknamed Supersnake. The original Shelby Invoice documents this Green Shelby GT 500 stating:
